Fluid is a compilation of poems, paintings, personal anecdotes, and essays. It is about gender fluidity. The design of the book/magazine/zine—It's a zine influenced by multiple queer+art cultures of London. These include Tate, Dazed, and Artforum (which combine paintings and text). Queer East Festival 2024, designed by Standard Format, also served as an influence (with titles in bold fonts breaking in between and flowing across the layout, multiple images, texts, and white spaces)
Text from the zine - I am affected by the boxing of sexuality—what more can I be, not just who I am? Not just the man-woman binary, but also straight, gay, hetero, homosexual. As cultures borrow from each other, so should sexualities. They should be fluid. Gender should be fluid.
Bodies exist within a community—fluid, dynamic. This is an envisioned community where differences in race, gender, and sexuality are embraced. Individuals borrow, learn, and thrive together. Acceptance reigns. Members help each other grow, elevate, escape, and lift. There is a sense of togetherness.
